Cygnets Course

Lucy Ellis has received some funding from the Lancashire North Clinical Commissioning Group which was used to train two parents and three professionals in this area so they can deliver the Cygnets training program (produced by Barnardos)

 

Courses include;

1) a Parent/carer course to help gain an understanding of autism and an introduction to some stategies/signposting to resources

2) Puberty, sexual wellbeing and relationships - for parents/carers/professionals to help with autism specific issues for their children

3) Supporting siblings - for parents/carers to discuss issues and concerns they have for siblings of children with autism.

4) Cygnet for professionals, a course run by two paediatricians for staff who work with children on the autistic spectrum to enhance their knowledge and explore a toolkit of strategies which may be beneficial.
